I installed tkpppoe but it requires root to use it for the first time under GUI so as to configure the net connection. But Knoppix does not allow
me to login as root under GUI. How to solve this?

Also Knoppix allows multiple pppoe connections run at the same time which I want to curtail to only one connection.
How to configure this?
