KNOPPIX is stable?

Hello comrads,

I've used many linux OSs like SuSE, Debian, and Fedora and found them pretty stable. I've heard however that the KNOPPIX 5 is unstable and "under heavy development". Question: It is true? Because I really want to install KNOPPIX because it seems to be a great and fast linux dest. when booted from a DVD.

Even if Knoppix was rock solid and bug free, it is a Live CD or DVD and not intended for installing to hard disk. Read the warnings in the wiki against installing it. And my personal experience is that a lot of stuff did break in the newest version, although it is still suitable as a Live CD for many uses.
