Not all devices scanned on boot?

When i try to boot on Intel DQ965GF motherboard i use boot params: "knoppix all-generic-ide irqpoll"
My CD-drive successfully detected:
Enabling DMA acceleration for: hdm [HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H10N]
but i'm get message:
"Can't find KNOPPIX filesystem, sorry."

Knoppix does not scan /dev/hdm for CD? Or how to fix it?

I just ran into this problem today and figured out that all the USB devices were pushing up the DVD drive to /dev/hdm...

To workaround the problem, I ran the following boot command line:

knoppix all-generic-ide pci=nommconf nousb 2

That dropped the DVD drive down to /dev/hde where Knoppix could properly boot from it...

Now I'm trying to figure out why this motherboard won't boot from the 3Ware 7000-2 RAID card, even though the BIOS sees it and lists it in the boot chain...
