How to tell if MacBookPro HD is dead or not mouting properly
Hi everyone, I've been used Knoppix before to recover data from PCs and its always been kind to me. I've come across a MacBook Pro today, which is no longer booting up OS X, so I decided why not give Knoppix a shot. It loaded up and looks to be working fine. I cant locate the harddrive though. I found that to mount it, I need to follow these commands
sudo mkdir /mnt/mac
mount -t hfsplus /dev/sda2 /mnt/mac
cd /mnt/mac
When I try to mount /dev/sda, it tells me that special device /dev/sda2 does not exist. Am I not doing something right in attempting to load it, or is the hd just so dead that it cant be detected?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advacem
