I am so impressed with Adriane. I have set this up for a blind friend, and installing hplip to get an HP all-in-one deskjet running turned out to be quite difficult, running into Python errors with hp-setup.
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/45knoppix
contains a "work-around" to deal with KDE. (lines 38-46)
Comment that out, and then your language settings will be correctly detected by hp-setup, which is important to get the drivers working.
