And Xerox asked another company to make it . If i am correct, think it was originally called FoS (Floppy Operating System). And then changed to PC-DOS in the hands of IBM. But M$ did mainstream DOS, so I have to give it credit for that.
Before M$ bought it it was called QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating System).
