i looked through http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4174 and i dont have a floppy, its busted...

i have 3 HDs, 1 has Xp 1 has WinME, and the 3rd 3gb hd has nothing on it, can any1 tell me a good way to install Knoppix on the 3rd HD? without a floppy? and still keep my XP and ME?

im new to Knoppix...

shell as a root: knx-hdinstall
then choose the right hd, the 3Gb one.
(I hope you have 3 hd and not 3 partition...but it doesn't matter)

sure, all you need is you powerfull cd-rom ^_^

yeap! knoppix installation will provide to write only in the hdd you choose. lilo will make the rest...

Set the BIOS to boot from CD (will only work if your BIOS is understands how to do that of course but virtually all of them sold in the last 5 years or so should be able to do it)

it says to make a boot floppy, but i dont have a floppy dive, how can i make a boot floppy is i dont have 1?

forget what it said...boot your Knoppix Live cd throught your cdrom.

to do this you need to set your bios on cdrom booting. once you booted knoppix, open a shell as a root and run the command "knx-hdinstall". a GUI will help you to install your cool knoppix in your cool hd...

its installed im on XP changeing the boot.ini lol ill see if it works i guess

umm it keeps saying hdd1 has errors and stuff, when i run fsck it dont fix it, still says it, do i have to format the drive and reinstall knoppix?

i think i have a bad HD...its like 5 years old and i kinda ben bad to it, IE: trowing it in a desk and stuff...and its just been sittin around for a year doin nothing
