Systemax #036088 Centrino 1.5ghz notebook & linux

I was wondering if anybody has tried to install any Linux OS on this notebook. I have seen this notebook advertised on Tigerdirect.com.Please somebody have a look at their page and let me know if it would be compatible with Linux.

as far as i can tell most things should work ok,
thoug 3 things may be bad news, modem, wireless and firewire
the modem may be a supported kind (conexant?) and firewire is a 50/50, the wireless is not even on google though, a quick search found nothing on intels homepage either so...
you might have to research those.

I belive that it will, but it won't boot with current knoppix, it needs to be remastered with the Intel Centrino Drivers included on it, a floppy, or another form of removeable media... but if you install linux you can get it to work.

Now, if it works with the Grafics card is another question, It should, Intel's cards and chips usually are, but I don't know if it is fully compatable with Xfree86, check their documentation, and/or check Intel's website or sourceforge.

Wireless should work with the Centrino platform dirvers, since you MUST use certain intel chips to get the Centrino moniker instead of just a Pentium Mobile moniker... you CANNOT be a Centrino without their certain (personally crappier) chips
