i booted my fresh knoppix cd on my old dell and its was running perfest till it got to the x-server part. then i treded it on my newer dell and the same message came up. can any body help?

What are your Dell specs?-you need to run an xserver that is compatible with your video card, display, etc.

What Xserver are you running?

The expert option may be useful to you here as you can specify certain settings, get together some info on your machine and feed it to Knoppix.

Without specifics it is hard to diagnose problems.
