Four Micron 64GB DDR4-3200 registered ECC server memory modules (2Rx4), part number MTA36ASF8G72PZ-3G2B2, 256GB total. Sold for parts / not working.
What I found in testing:- All four modules are recognized by the BIOS at full capacity and run at 3200 MT/s (see screenshot).- Under sustained stress testing in Linux on an AMD Threadripper PRO (WRX80) system, every module logs a steady stream of correctable ECC errors.- No uncorrectable errors were seen, and the system never crashed.- They pass MemTest86, but that's misleading: ECC corrects the errors before MemTest86 can see them. Linux's ECC error reporting (EDAC) shows them clearly.- One module is missing a small capacitor that I noticed. See picture.- Label suffixes vary (TI / VI / UI), so these appear to come from different production batches.
They aren't suitable for production use. They could be useful for parts, chip donors/rework, or ECC and error-reporting testing.
