Restored and refurbished a couple months ago with the following components:Replaced caps on the Power Supply Board at C201, C202, C204, C205,C207, C210(see images)this fixedthe ripple and overvolting coming from the PSU.
Replaced Motherboard Capacitor at location C192. (see images)Replacement capacitors are brand new USA manufactured in 2025!The 2200uf caps at C204 & C205 on the power supply unit are heavy duty and rated at 25vas appose to the lower quality and faulty 16v caps. These will filter better and last much longer. After servicing and cleaning the printed circuit boards, they came out super nice. All of the boards are oxidation free and are some of the best ones I have seen.
All four Joy Stick ports work as intended. RF cable inspected, cleaned and free from defects. Cartridge door RF shield was stripped, cleaned and new 3M double sided tape was applied to RF Shield and replaced to the cart door. Door hinges are adjusted and lubricated for smooth action. Door spring is free from any type of oxidation with zero rust and works flawlessly. Cart door opens and closes as it should.
Motherboard jumpers were professionally soldered to accommodate the Brand New 48K SRAMExpansion Kit. The 48KB SRAM module was manufactured March of 2026 so these are the latest and greatest. (see images)
Interior and exterior upper and lower cases were hand cleaned and lubricated. The personality card (CPU, Antic, GTIA, etc) and POKEY chip all tested 100% in circuit using ESR/LCR Meters. All machine threaded and self tapping fastening screws are tight and fully secure. Nothing is stripped out or broken. All screws are in there proper places and free from defects as Atari intended.
The B-Key 400 Keyboard was basically refurbished.All keys work as intended!Each key cap was cleaned by hand. Each switch leaf spring were deoxidized, adjusted and lubricated with dry film. ROM/RAM passes all diagnostics testing. This unit plays a lot of Atari 800 software and video games like a champ. (please see video)
This system can be used as a daily user with no problems whatsoever.SIO port pins cleaned and lubricated. SIO port reads from Atari 410 Program Recorder flawlessly. It's easily the best 400 currently available on . Like New in everyway!
