Atari 1200XL, the short-lived 1983 64K XL. US-built unit, serial 83S DA 012387 093, FCC ID BPA83S1200. Made in U.S.A.
Tested as follows. Original power supply was checked before the computer was powered. With no cartridge it boots to the built-in splash screen. With a cartridge inserted it loads and plays. Donkey Kong was run on a TV through the RF output and played normally, including scoring. Photo and video of that test are in the listing.
Not tested: keyboard. I do not have an Atari BASIC cartridge, so BASIC, the editor, and a full key-by-key check were not done. Keys are all present and legends are intact. Treat the keyboard as unverified. 1200XL mylar failures are common, so offer accordingly.
The 1200XL did not ship with BASIC in ROM. A BASIC cartridge is required for programming. None is included.
Included:
Not included: manual, BASIC cartridge, joystick, TV switch box, or cables.
Light signs of age and use. No cracks noted on the shell. Rear labels are present: peripheral, switch box, monitor, channel 2/3, power in. Front has the power switch, cartridge bay, and both controller ports. Function keys, HELP, START, SELECT, OPTION, RESET, and BREAK are present.
Box is poor. Crushed corners, torn edges, heavy yellowed packing tape, surface wear, and a handwritten name on one panel. It is the original carton and both foam inserts are present, but this is a parts-quality box, not a display box. See photos.
Sold as described and shown. USA shipping from Las Vegas.
