Cisco Small Business Pro ESW 540 (ESW-540-24P-K9) 24-port Gigabit PoE managed switch, tested and working. It boots normally, all ports link up, and PoE is confirmed working. The configuration has been reset to factory defaults, so it's ready to set up with no password recovery needed.

This is a managed Layer 2 switch from Cisco's Small Business Pro line. It has 24 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet ports, all with PoE, plus 4 expansion ports with SFP slots for fiber or additional uplinks. It supports VLANs, QoS traffic prioritization, 802.1X port security, and access control lists, which makes it a good fit for powering IP phones, wireless access points, and cameras. Management is through a web-based interface, and it's 1U and rack-mountable.

Condition: Minor cosmetic markings that do not impact functionality may be present. Please review the photos, which show the actual unit you'll receive and are part of the description.

To save on shipping-- Rack ears will come disassembled (as shown in last picture) in a ziplock bag with their screws. Instructions on how/where to re-install will be included.

Please read before buying:

  • This is a Cisco Small Business switch, not a Catalyst. It does not run Cisco IOS and is managed mainly through its web interface, so it isn't suited for CCNA/CCNP IOS command-line practice.

  • It was discontinued by Cisco years ago and no longer receives firmware updates or support. It's best suited for homelabs, small office PoE, or replacing an identical unit.

  • Like most rack switches, the fans are noticeable. It's not ideal for a quiet living space.
