Dell PowerEdge 2950 EMS01 2U Rack Server

Used Dell PowerEdge 2950 enterprise rack server. The unit powers on and was connected to a monitor for testing. It successfully displays the Dell BIOS and proceeds through the boot process into an installed VMware ESX Server 3 environment, as shown in the photos.

The server is equipped with six hot-swappable drive caddies, each labeled 146GB 15K SAS. A drive was removed for identification and is shown in the photos as a Seagate Cheetah 15K.5 146GB 15,000 RPM SAS drive (ST3146855SS). This provides 876GB of nominal raw drive capacity across six drives before RAID configuration/formatting.

The server also has a PERC 5/i Integrated RAID controller, dual hot-swappable power supplies, installed memory, optical drive, Intel Xeon platform, VGA, serial, USB and network connectivity.

PLEASE NOTE: During startup, the PERC 5/i controller displays a RAID battery/memory-battery warning. The startup screen reports that the battery hardware may be missing, malfunctioning, unplugged or fully discharged, and that battery-backed cache will not function normally. Please review the corresponding photo carefully.

The server successfully powers on and reaches the VMware ESX boot environment as photographed. No additional comprehensive functional testing has been performed, so no functionality beyond what is specifically demonstrated in the photos is being guaranteed.

The metal chassis shows normal cosmetic wear from previous use, including scratches, scuffs and marks. Please carefully review all photos for the exact physical condition.

Included: Dell PowerEdge 2950 server with the six pictured 146GB SAS drives/caddies and installed internal components shown in the photos. Monitor, keyboard, mouse and other external testing equipment shown in the photos are not included.
