One unusual feature of the Vanpak software I have used is that the supplied master disk is not necessarily intended to simply be inserted and booted by itself. Instead, the instructions require the user to create a separate working disk appropriate for the IBM computer being used.

This can involve preparing a disk with the appropriate version of DOS and, when required, BASIC or BASICA, then copying the necessary program files from the supplied master disk. This initially threw me off with these Vanpak packages, but following the instructions allowed me to create a working disk and successfully test this software.

Home Budget comes from the early IBM PC era, when personal computers were increasingly being marketed for practical household uses such as budgeting, record keeping, correspondence, and financial planning.

I have found very little surviving information about McCullor Microcomputing itself, which suggests this title came from one of the many small independent software developers active during the early personal-computer era.

This is an opened vintage software package. The original media was readable and was successfully used to create a working disk for testing.

The original package shows normal age-related shelf and storage wear, including discoloration, scuffing, marks, a small older label on the front, and other cosmetic imperfections visible in the photographs. The package comes from a climate-controlled home.
