MSD SD-2 Super Disk Drive for Commodore computers provides dual 5.25-inch floppy disk storage in a single unit. This vintage peripheral features a 16K ROM-based operating system and includes serial and IEEE-488 interface ports. The unit is housed in a white metal chassis with black front-facing drive bays and includes its original box, AC power cord, and a serial cable, bag and original styrofoam .
Upon testing, the device powers on and exhibits a blinking pattern where the LEDs, Power, Drive 1 and Drive 2, flash seven times, pause, and repeat. These are infamous for needing recaps, but we have no way to say that is sll it needs. There is still extensive documentation, forum posts and Youtube videos on these drives. If you have the know how to repair, and a Commodore to run the software diags, this piece is in very good condition cosmetically, add the original packaging with matching serial numbers on the unit and the box and cords. Sold as-is for parts or repair, no returns.
It also has 2 switches on the back which are unknown as to their functions.
