This is a genuine late-1970s Netronics computer/terminal-era circuit board — not a reproduction.

Netronics was heavily involved in the early hobbyist microcomputer era, producing computer kits, terminal products and related hardware during the period when systems such as the COSMAC ELF / ELF II and other early personal-computer platforms were being developed and sold.

The VID-1 was designed as part of a video/terminal system capable of working with ASCII-oriented keyboard and computer equipment, making surviving original examples particularly interesting to early-computer collectors and restorers.

This board was found together with a period Micro Switch 58SD5-1 ASCII Hall-effect keyboard, which I am listing separately.

CONDITION

UNTESTED — INCOMPLETE — SOLD AS-IS

I have not attempted to power or electrically test this board.

The PCB appears largely intact and retains numerous original period components, ICs, wiring and connector hardware.

However, an important issue should be noted:

U24 IC SOCKET IS EMPTY

The socket identified on the PCB as U24 does not contain an IC.

U24 appears to be associated with the video character-generation circuitry, so the board should be considered incomplete and non-operational unless/until the correct device is installed and the system is properly serviced and tested.

I do not have the missing IC unless it is subsequently discovered among other loose components.

This equipment is approximately 47 years old.

It is being sold strictly as a:

VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE / RESTORATION BOARD / PARTS UNIT

It is NOT represented as operational.

Any restoration should be performed by someone familiar with vintage electronics and early computer equipment.
