Rare Vintage IBM 3604 Model 2 Keyboard Display Terminal, Beam-Spring, Blue Caps:
$1749.00

Original IBM beam spring terminal keyboard from the IBM 3600 Financial Communication System, the terminal family IBM built for bank teller stations. Launched in 1973; models 1 through 4 (this is model 2) of the 3604 shipped with beam spring keyboards. Beamspring or model B is the mechanism IBM used before buckling spring model F and model M, and the reason these boards are sought after: a capacitive switch with a coiled spring that buckles against a flyplate, giving the tactile response collectors describe as the best IBM ever produced. They were never sold at retail - they came bolted into terminals leased to banks - which is why surviving units are scarce and most that exist have spent decades in service.
