Vintage New Old Stock: Star Micronics NX-1000 Multi-Font Dot Matrix Printer (NIB)

Up for sale is an incredibly rare find for retro computing enthusiasts and collectors: a brand new, never used, original Star Micronics NX-1000 Multi-Font Printer in its original factory box.

This is true "New Old Stock" (NOS). While the outer box shows some minor shelf wear consistent with storage over the decades (as pictured), the unit inside has never been deployed or plugged in. It is the ultimate time-capsule companion piece for classic setups like the Commodore 64/128, Apple II series, Atari ST, Amiga, or legacy IBM MS-DOS PC systems.

Key Retro Features & Specifications:

• Print Speeds: Fast 144 characters per second (cps) High-Speed Draft / 36 cps Near Letter Quality (NLQ) printing.

• Built-in Fonts: 8 built-in NLQ fonts with proportional printing options across all styles.

• Paper Parking Mechanism: A revolutionary feature for its time, allowing you to feed single sheets without having to unthread your continuous tractor-feed paper.

• Paper Feeding: Tractor and Friction feeds both come standard.

• Interface: Standard Parallel Interface (Centronics).

• Dual Emulation Modes: Built-in native support for IBM Proprinter II and EPSON ESC/P command sets, giving it massive compatibility with legacy software.

• Power Requirement: 120V US specification.

Vintage Condition Note:

This item is brand new in its original retail box. Please note that because this is a factory-boxed vintage mechanical item from the late 1980s, the pre-installed or included internal printer ribbon will likely be dried out due to age and will require replacement if you intend to print with it.
