Vintage Microtek Megabit Rev 3 Memory Expansion Board 8-Bit ISA RAM Card IBM PC:
$79.00

Up for sale is a rare, vintage Microtek "Megabit" Rev 3 Memory Expansion Board. This is a period-accurate 8-bit ISA expansion card manufactured in Taiwan in approximately 1989. It is designed for legacy IBM PC, PC/XT (5150/5160), or early AT-compatible desktop setups. In the late 1980s, these cards were essential for overcoming the standard 640KB DOS conventional memory limit by adding Expanded Memory (EMS) or Extended Memory for demanding software like early versions of Windows, Lotus 1-2-3, or AutoCAD.Board Details & Condition:
  • Model: Microtek Megabit Revision 3 (Features sticker with legacy 619 San Diego Microtek support number).
  • Memory Config: Fully populated with 16x socketed Samsung KM41C1000P-8 1-Megabit DRAM chips, giving the board a total of 1 Megabyte (1MB) of expansion RAM.
  • Physical Condition: Very clean cosmetic condition. Gold ISA edge connectors show standard wear from age but no deep scratches. No signs of severe corrosion, burns, or physical damage. All memory chips are securely seated in their sockets.
  • Testing Status: UNTESTED. This board was acquired as part of a vintage electronics collection. Because I do not currently own a functioning legacy IBM XT or compatible system to bench-test it, this card is being sold strictly AS-IS for parts, repair, or restoration with no returns.
Shipping & Handling:The board will be securely wrapped in a static-shielding antistatic bag and packed carefully in a sturdy box with bubble wrap to ensure safe transit. Ships promptly via USPS Ground Advantage / Priority Mail with tracking. Please review the high-resolution photos carefully to judge the physical condition for yourself before offerding.
