Vintage Motorola MACSS XC68000L Pre-Production Engineering Sample CPU (1980):
$699.95

Offered here is an exceptionally rare, museum-grade piece of computing history: an authentic Motorola MACSS XC68000L pre-production microprocessor in a side-brazed purple ceramic 64-pin DIP package.

Before the MC68000 launched commercially to power legendary platforms like the original Apple Macintosh, Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, and early Sun Microsystems workstations, Motorola developed the architecture under the internal project name MACSS (\"Motorola\'s Advanced Computer System on Silicon\"). Engineering samples bearing the pre-production XC prefix and original MACSS branding were distributed in very limited numbers to key development partners and internal lab testbeds between late 1979 and 1980.
