Up for sale is a premium, highly collectible vintage Seagate Barracuda 2.1GB Internal Hard Drive (Model ST32171W). Manufactured in early 1997, this is a legendary high-performance drive from the late-90s server era.
Unlike standard consumer IDE drives, this model features a high-end Ultra-Wide SCSI (68-Pin) interface and spins at a blazing 7,200 RPM. This makes it an incredibly sought-after piece for vintage server preservationists, legacy Unix workstations, and high-end retro Apple Macintosh restorations.
Provenance & Technical Pedigree:
This drive comes directly out of my father\'s private estate collection a former MCI Telecommunications Engineer who was active in the industry from the 1980s through 2012. It has been meticulously kept in a clean, smoke-free, climate-controlled tech workshop environment.
Note: The top label features authentic pencil bench notes from its time in active service (\"Blank Linux\"), adding excellent engineering provenance to the hardware.
💎 Collector\'s Note on Condition (Mint / Unused Appearance):
The underside exposed logic board (PCB) is in spectacular, museum-grade condition and looks practically brand new. The component arrays from Seagate, Lucent, and Dallas Semiconductor feature immaculate silver solder legs, bright copper traces, and zero dust or oxidation. The original factory inspection ink stamps are crisp, and the central aluminum spindle motor seal remains entirely untouched. This drive presents beautifully as a likely un-deployed field spare or pristine \"New Old Stock\" survivor piece.
