    toshiba satellite 1366x768 display prob.

i took a screenshot but idk how to upload it to this post.
after the word KNOPPIX on the top right, the screen is black all the way down. i cannot see most of the system monitor or anything to the right.
after booting, the screen gets perfect, then the black rectangle occupies that portionof the screen. i can't see the wallpaper or taskbar under that black rectangle, but i can see the mouse pointer.. if i click where the time should be, the calendar does open.
how do i change my resolution, something like the control panel.. i tried boot knoppix screen=1366x768 but same problem.
4gb of DDR3 so is it possible to load knoppix completely into RAM like puppy linux so i can remove the flash drive?
if not, at least i have an SD card slot in my laptop so i can buy an SD card and start running knoppix off of that.
i am using a laaser mouse attached or i would also ask how to enable touchpad tapping.

nvm. fixed my own problem. click Preferences, CompizConfig Settings Manager, General Options, Display Settings, then under Outputs it had the wrong resolution, so i changed it to 1366x768+0+0 and restarted the 3D desktop compiz. problem solved.

Great that you found out this yourself and reported it here!
I just want to remark that starting with cheat code no3d may be helpful with display problems. In your case, it could maybe have given you an indicator of the culprit (Compiz resolution settings). There are lots of problems reported with Compiz, but maybe most of them are due to wrong display settings?
