    Hi,

Most of the time, Knoppix will detect flash cards, usb thumb sticks and external usb harddisks when you plug them in without needing to restart. There are however some brands which do not get detected or loaded. If you plug in the media and it is detected, you will see its icon on the desktop. Usually it will be sd** , for example, sda1, sdb1, sda2 and so on. If you plug in a usb media after boot up (i.e. "hot plug") Knoppix will also open up a dialog box asking what you want to do with the media.

To mount the media, you simply right-click the icon and choose the option "mount". This will mount in read-only mode. To change to read-write, right-click and selection option "change read-write mode".

    Regards.
