Item Description

Up for sale is a genuine Dell Inspiron 14R-5421 (early 2013) motherboard. This motherboard is not currently functional and is offered for parts/repair only! When this bare motherboard is fully outfitted w/memory, LCD, keyboard, etc, the board will disable the AC adapter as soon as it is connected (the adapter\'s blue status LED turns off immediately). There is no response at all from the motherboard - the CPU fan doesn\'t spin, the drives don\'t spin, and there\'s zippo on the display. Upon close visual inspection, I could not spot any obviously damaged components; however, these boards have somewhat standard failure modes (typically a bad SMD capacitor or FET on one of the power rails) and I suspect that some decent debugging and soldering skills can bring this back to full operating condition - no promises though!

Please note: The laptop this board came from worked perfectly fine until this problem surfaced. Nothing physical happened to it - there are no cracks or breaks in the PCB (laptop was never dropped or banged), there was never any liquid spill damage, or lightning damage or anything else. It simply stopped working one day. No attempts whatsoever have been made to repair the motherboard (I don\'t have the tools or temperament to mess with it), so it\'s offered for an enterprising buyer with he appropriate soldering tools and skills to repair or salvage. I can make no promises, though, regarding the results of your repair attempts!

Again, absolutely no repair efforts have been made with this motherboard - it has NOT been tinkered with in any way! No components whatsoever have been removed or modified from the PCB - absolutely everything is fully intact and ready for either repair or salvage. Please be aware that the board does not include memory, WiFi card, hard drive, optical drive, etc.; it only includes the components soldered/attached to the PCB itself.

Upon arrival, this Dell laptop motherboard is guaranteed to NOT work - it has a problem/issue receiving power. I would expect it to behave exactly as I have described above once you install the necessary components (memory, keyboard, etc.). If for some reason, however, it arrives completely functional, then you may send it back for a full refund!

Due to the functional issues described above, this Dell Inspiron 14R-5421 motherboard does not carry a warranty; if you purchase it, it is yours - I cannot accept returns for this item! As already stated, it does not fully work.
