CloudGenix ION 2000 is a rebranded Lanner FW-7525D. With CloudGenix firmware, it is sold as an SD-WAN router. We repurposed it into a generalist network router / firewall running OPNsense. To test the device and make port functions consistent with on-device labeling, we made a few changes to the initial OPNsense configuration. A detailed configuration note will be provided to the buyer. Alternatively, the buyer could simply reset OPNsense to its initial state.

Full disclosure: the unit has a factory-set BIOS password, which we do not know and were unable to remove by the standard techniques (repositioning the reset jumper, temporarily removing the CMOS battery, etc.). This said, we had no trouble replacing the stock operating system with OPNsense.

The device runs on an Intel Atom C2558 processor (2.4 GHz) with 4 GB of RAM. The operating system is installed on a 4 GB Compact Flash (CF) card. Networking is handled by a six-port Intel i210 Gigabit Ethernet card.

Please note that due to limited storage space, we installed the “nano” version of OPNsense. The “nano” version is designed to work within limited storage space and minimize disk writes to ensure the longevity of the storage device (this way, OPNsense can be installed on CF cards, SD cards, and other media that is sensitive to repeated rewriting).

The device is implemented in a desktop form factor. The case is all metal and very sturdy. The unit is passively cooled and completely silent.

The device is in excellent, like-new, physical condition (please review the photos). A power supply unit with a threaded coupling (no more accidental unplugging!) is included.

The buyer will receive the device in its factory packaging with the original power supply and a set of rubber feet.
