Pogoplug E02 is an embedded Linux device with an 1.2GHz ARM processor, 256MB RAM, 4 USB ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet port. This is an upgrade over the Pogoplug Mobile V4 devices. They are also heaver and more expensive to ship.
Pi-hole is an open source Linux network-level ad and tracker blocking application which acts as a DNS sinkhole and optionally a DHCP server, intended for use on a private or home network.
Pi-hole protects your devices from unwanted content without needing to install any client-side ad blocking software. It does this by preventing devices from connecting to servers that host these ads and trackers. This means it can work on smart TVs and in ad-supported mobile apps.
Pi-hole comes with a responsive Web Interface dashboard to view and control your Pi-hole from any web browser on the network.
Setup is easy with the included instructions. Root access is available over SSH.
Note: Pi-hole cannot block native ads such as YouTube because they are on the same server as the content.
