What's bad:
  • LCD display is shot. Still works but is very difficult to see.
  • No battery.
  • Floppy drive is questionable.
  • Case cracked on right side.

What's good:
  • Machine powers up, internal HDD is good as well - Powerbook was booting from it before I securely wiped and reformatted it.
  • All original, one owner machine with provenance from original purchase in Dec of 1994 @ $1,872.
  • Includes some rare and difficult to find accessories:
- Working AC Power Adapter
- Optional Apple external video display cable
- Optional Apple SCSI attachment cable
- Original Apple manuals including rare, intact Apple Rainbow logo decals!
- Original Apple shipping box, matching machine serial number with all internal packing materials.
Note:
  • External Monitor not included.
  • Will be carefully re-packed in original Apple box with matching shipping blocks.
  • I will not ship this machine via US Postal Service due to prior mishandling of shipments.
  • While it powers up and tries to boot, I cannot guarantee this machine will survive shipping simply because it is 30 years old. Note my excellent rating and longevity. This was not achieved by cutting corners, I take great pride in being an ethical seller and have done my best to represent this machine's state.
  • I also won't accept returns due to experience with unethical buyers that purchased a system, swapped in failed parts and then demanded a return and refund! Sadly, it's always a few bad eggs that make life difficult for the rest of us....

Working parts and accessories alone are collectivelyworth over $250 so this is a bargainfor parts or perhaps a candidate for restoration using parts from another Powerbook 520. The provenance, original box, manuals, etc. makes this machine valuable to collectors if restored to running condition.
