knoppix menu > root terminal
ifconfig eth1 up #this card must be brought up before it can be setup
wlcardconfig #gui to set wireless options
netcardconfig #gui to get/set ip
run in above order
My card is configured as eth1,yours might be different.Run iwconfig first to find out.
