I don't know about Lilo........but in Grub you have an option to use "map" command
ex:
title FreeDos
map (hd0) (hd1)
map (hd1) (hd0)
rootnoverify (hd1,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1

I found that lilo too can use "map" command but as "map-drive"
ex:
other=/dev/hdb1
label="FreeDos"
table=/dev/hdb
map-drive=0x80
to=0x81
map-drive=0x81
to=0x80
