After booting Knoppix 3.8.1 LiveCD and supplying a boot string of "knoppix screen=1280x1024 depth=24", my PS/2 mouse was auto-detected as /dev/psaux. When X began, my mouse cursor was frozen. A boot string of simply "knoppix" had similar results of no cursor movement (no mouse recognition) in X.

With no boot string, i.e. pressing ENTER at the "boot:" prompt, X begins with 1152x784 (or whatever) and the mouse & keyboard function.

I had a functioning Knoppix 3.7 system until I tried to install 3.8.1. The new Knoppix simply won't install correctly and I'm stuck now with no place to turn.
